Dear Thay, Dear Sangha,

A Sangha in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh since 2001
Dear Thay, Dear Sangha,
We’re happy to announce the new LGBTQIA+ meditation group organized by our sangha members Linds Roberts and Willow Hutchins! Queer Meditation Practice will meet every 4th Wednesday in the same space at the UPark church where Eyes of Compassion and Wake Up are currently meeting. Questions? Email [email protected].
Dear friends: Here is a communication from Christiane Hütte explaining the origins of the international walking meditation that we are doing on Nov. 30. We’re not just walking by ourselves in Denver; it’s all over the world!

International Walking Meditation Inspired by Zen-Master Thich Nhat Hanh (Thay)
Please Spread the Word and Consider Organizing and Joining the 2024 Walk
Dear friends, I hope you are taking good care of yourself today, at the end of this election cycle. Breathing in, breathing out.
On a happy note, we know Thay offered countless public walking meditations throughout his life. With great joy, I’m writing to share an opportunity to continue his vision. Continue reading “More information on “International Walking Meditation””
Let’s join walking meditation simultaneously with Plum Village sanghas around the world.
We are meeting at James A. Bible Park in Denver at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 30th. This will be a silent walking meditation with the topic “Touching Simplicity.” We will contemplate simple life and simple joys, shifting the focus from consumer frenzy holidays to mindfulness and connection. Significant others are welcome.
We will:
James A. Bible Park Yale Ave parking lot is at6802 E. Yale Ave, Denver. Directions to park: From I-25, exit on Yale heading East. Entrance to parking lot is on the right about 0.8 miles just past Monaco.
Following the walk, you are welcome to join us at Sojourners coffee shop, 1501 S. Holly, in Denver. Directions to coffee shop: From the park, head west on Yale to Holly. Go north on Holly about a mile. Sojourners is on the southeast corner of Holly and Florida. ( If you get to Ace Hardware you’ve gone to far.)
Bowing,
Dear Thay, Dear Sangha,
Instead of our usual Thursday evening Sangha meeting on Sept. 26, we’ll be gathering, along with dharma teacher Viviane Ephraimson-Abt, with Wake Up Denver for a Mindful Evening of Creativity and Community Building at our usual meeting place. Please read the flyer below for the details—no fee or registration is needed to attend.
Eyes members please note that the event begins at 6:30 pm, earlier than our usual start time. We’re really looking forward to this, and hope to see you there!
UPDATE July 9: the date of the meditation walk has been changed from July 14 to July 28. All the other details are the same.
Dear Sangha,
Mirella and I would like to invite you to Bible Park on Sunday July 28 at noon for our Summer Meditation Walk. We will meet at the south end of the parking lot, sing some songs and walk in noble silence on the nearby path. We will end at the stream for prayers and sharing of the merit. The walk will last about an hour.
Afterwards anyone who wants to is invited to come to my house at 1365 S. Ivy Way for tea and snacks. Please feel free to bring vegetarian snacks and friends or family.
Let us know if you are planning to come to our lovely ritual by replying to Andrea at [email protected]. We are looking forward to walking with you.
Warm wishes,
Andrea and Mirella
The “Earth Our True Nature” retreat, with the monastics from Deer Park, will take place in Estes Park Colorado from August 18th to 23rd, 2024. Registration is now open. Details are posted on the Deer Park website. Continue reading ““Earth Our True Nature” – RMNP retreat this August”
Dear Friends,
UPDATE May 26: See this post; date/time is July 14 at noon, and in Bible Park, not Cook Park.
UPDATE April 5: the meditation walk will NOT be on April 6 after all. We don’t know when it will be, but hopefully soon. Stay tuned for further details.
We will meet at Cook Park (on Cherry Creek South off of Monaco) in front of the swimming pool to the left of the Recreation Center Building. Parking is available in two lots at the entrance to the park.
We will sing some songs and then circle the park walking in noble silence. We will pause several times in stillness and do an intention circle at the end. The walk will last about an hour. After the walk all are invited to my home (about a mile away) for tea and snacks. Come to the walk and we’ll give you the exact address and directions. Feel free to bring snacks to share.
Warm wishes, Andrea and Mirella
Because of the severe winter storm moving into the area, we are reluctantly cancelling the Sangha meeting for Thursday, March 14, 2024, at University Park UMC in Denver. We’ll see you next week, or at the Sunday sangha via Zoom. In the meantime, stay safe and warm.
